“DO NO HARM; A SHARED COMMITMENT TOWARDS ENHANCING PATIENT SAFETY.”

Mission Statement

“do no harm; a shared commitment towards enhancing patient safety”

Vision

To provide a first line complication management service to patients who face complications from non-surgical cosmetic treatments, via a network of medical clinicians who are uniquely qualified to assess and manage these patients. In doing so, we hope to assist in reducing the burden placed on the NHS frontline.

Mission

We will achieve this by providing 24-hour advice and access for any medical aesthetics complication(s). Our services will be accessible to all aesthetic practitioners across the UK, to promote and enhance patient safety, thus preventing or reducing harm.

Aim

We firmly believe only medically trained practitioners should inject. However, given the current legislation, we consider the best approach is one that allows for a shared commitment between all practitioners. This will be achieved by having an “A&E” style approach whereby formal referrals are made prior to us assessing and managing the complication. The 24-hr helpline is to be used by members for referral of severe complications only.

We also aim to make representations to governmental and regulatory bodies about the growing concern of the number of complications we are seeing in such an unregulated industry. In addition, we aim to make the public aware of the lack of regulation. This will be achieved by auditing our unbiased data to produce statistical and educational information in relation to complications in aesthetic medicine.
