Dr Gurnam Virdi

Dr GV Aesthetics, Leeds

Dr Gurnam Virdi is an internationally renowned cosmetic doctor based in the UK. Alongside being the Medical Director of the Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, he is also a recognised international speaker and trainer in medical aesthetics.  In addition, he is faculty member of the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine. His background is heavily comprised of Surgery in which he has multiple first author journal publications.  Dr Virdi specialises in the development of innovative techniques to enhance facial harmony with a holistic approach using non-surgical measures.  Furthermore, he takes great pride in patient safety and is known for his specialism – managing complications in medical aesthetics.

Dr Sharan Uppal

Pegi Day Aesthetics, Huddersfield

Dr Sharan Uppal, a registered GP and clinical director or Pegi Day Aesthetics, entered into the field of facial aesthetics in 2014. She runs her own aesthetic clinic in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and also works for one of the leading training academies in the North West. Sharan is passionate about creating aesthetically pleasing physical results, which look natural and further benefit the clients’ psychosocial life. She takes pride in attention to detail, with no area of the face spared during the facial assessments in order to create holistic treatment plans.

Sharan is also committed to patient safety and helping raise the standards of facial aesthetic practice in the UK. As such, she regularly teaches and mentors regulated medical professionals, placing emphasis on an ethical approach, whilst employing techniques that minimise the risk of complications. Furthermore, Sharan is keen to be involved with the British Association For Medical Aesthetic Complications.

Dr Rebecca White

Dr Rebecca White Aesthetics, Ayrshire

Dr Rebecca White is a registered GP based in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, although she is originally from Northern Ireland. She has been doing facial aesthetics since 2015; her career has excelled recently when she took on the role as the clinical lead trainer in Northern Ireland and trainer in Scotland for the Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Rebecca is honoured to be involved with the British Association For Medical Aesthetic Complications which integrates her passion for patient safety within aesthetic medicine. She has developed her own style of treating patients with a holistic mindset using various skills obtained from her mentor, Dr Virdi.

Dr Tira Matla

Dr Matla Medical Aesthetics, Newcastle

Dr Tiru Matla is a registered GP based in Newcastle and he has been doing medical aesthetics since 2015. He specialises in a range of non-surgical treatments which he provides with a holistic approach whilst building trust with his patients.

Throughout his time working in Medicine for the last 20 years, he has a passion for patient safety and will continue his passion with the British Association For Medical Aesthetic Complications.

Dr Aarti Narayan-Denning

Reverse Time Aesthetics, Winchester

Dr Aarti Narayan-Denning is a registered GP with over 10 years of experience in medical aesthetics (injectables, suture lifts, autologous PRP, intralipotherapy, RF, Plasma). She is the Medical Director of Reverse Time Wellness and Aesthetics in Winchester.

Aarti has been a trainer for PDO thread lifts, PRP, and supported peers in managing complications as part of an aesthetic complications group. Furthermore, she is Board Certified by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. She insists upon a comprehensive medical consultation, a whole-face approach, and a management plan relevant to the patient’s age, sex, health and lifestyle factors.

Aarti is committed to patient safety, ethical practice and patient education. She believes in minimising complications by risk-assessing patient-specific factors in consultation – and is eager to support patients experiencing complications from aesthetic treatment, by being involved with the British Association For Medical Aesthetic Complications.

Emma Spotswood

Emaze Aesthetics, Sheffield

Emma has been nursing for 18 years and is an independent nurse prescriber whose career in facial aesthetics has grown exponentially. Her clinics are based in Sheffield where she offers a wide portfolio of treatments alongside a bespoke skincare service. After being heavily mentored by Dr Virdi, she went on to become the lead trainer for the prestigious Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Emma has a keen eye for detail and her teaching/mentoring style is hugely admired by many clinicians from across the country. She is also the proud co-founder of the medical-grade skincare range Javani. Emma is proud to take the next step in her aesthetics career which is to raise the standards of patient safety within the industry by being on the Medical Faculty for the British Association For Medical Aesthetic Complications.

Ashley McGurnaghan

AMG Aesthetics, Ayrshire

Ashley is an independent nurse prescriber and has 13 years nursing experience. Not only does she work part-time at her GP surgery but she also runs a successful aesthetics business – AMG Aesthetics – which she has been running for almost 5 years. Mentored by Dr Virdi, she has continued to expand her knowledge and skillset to the point where she is competent to manage various types of complications within aesthetic medicine. Ashley takes great pride in being Scotland’s clinical lead trainer for the Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and offering the best training and continuous support to medical practitioners. In addition, she strongly believes in raising standards for patient safety in the industry and proudly boasts being part of the British Association For Medical Aesthetic Complications.

Emma Kelliher

EK Aesthetics, Northampton

Emma qualified as a registered general nurse in 2001. She has been working full-time in aesthetics for 12 years and she is an independent nurse prescriber. Emma was a CQC registered manager for one of the largest national UK cosmetic non-surgical providers for 10 years. Her knowledge of the non-surgical and cosmetic surgery industry is vast and has been gained from years of experience. Emma also holds a post with a training academy in the South where she teaches medical aesthetics to other medical professionals. In addition, she also mentors V300 students moving into medical aesthetics who require a prescriber qualification.

Emma regularly works alongside expert peers ensuring her knowledge and expertise is kept up to date. This includes management of complications and assisting injectors in the safe management of adverse events. She is very excited to be part of the British Association For Medical Aesthetic Complications as she is very passionate about safety and training.

Deby Rowbottom

Pure Medical Aesthetics Clinic, Doncaster

Deby is a registered general nurse for the last 31 years and an aesthetics clinician for the last 17 years. Her vast experience has allowed to her to become competent at dealing with complications which is something she is very passionate about and she bring her experience to the British Association For Medical Aesthetic Complications.

In addition to being an independent nurse prescriber, she also has for last 6 years been a trainer for Merz Pharma and Ultherapy. She has developed her own style of teaching over the years which has led to Deby producing competent injectors with attention for detail.

Joanne Poskitt

Jo Poskitt Aesthetics, Barsnley

Jo is a registered nurse working in the NHS for over 25 years where she also sits on the NICE expert Panel for certain conditions. She is an independent nurse prescriber, had a secondment to the University of York as a Lecturer on the Post Graduate independent nurse prescribing course and sat on the Royal Pharmaceutical Society expert panel for the new role of the designated prescribing practitioner (DPP). She offers the role as DPP to students on the INP course at an expert level.

Jo started her aesthetic career over 6 years ago, has a passion for aesthetics and attends regular training and supervision ensuring she is up to date and skilled.  Her continual learning journey ensures a safe, effective and evidence based and client centred approach to treatments. She is delighted to combine her experience and passion with the British Association For Medical Aesthetic Complications.

Dr Karen Littleton PHD

C&L Aesthetics, Nottingham

Dr Karen Littleton (PhD) has over forty years’ experience in the healthcare arena in aesthetics, general nursing, education, leadership, management, research, Human Resources, employment relations, trade union and disability assessment.

Starting in a professional career in general medical nursing Karen Littleton had a flare for teaching and transferred her skills into nurse education at The University of Nottingham in the early 80s. She taught in various roles over a period of twenty years and was instrumental in developing nurse education into a profession with an evidence-based practice as opposed to a vocation. She supervised many research students during this time up to PhD level and worked in a senior management role at the University for over twelve years. Karen Littleton has qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Cert Ed FE & HE, BSc (Hons) Health Care, PG Dip Research Design & Methodology, a Philosophy Doctorate (PhD) and is an Independent & Supplementary Nurse Prescriber.

Whilst teaching at the University Karen Littleton maintained her credence in practice by continuing to work in the clinical environment in general medicine and latterly in GP practice including co-ordinating an Out of Hours GP service for several years.
